JAN 5703WB mil-spec Vacuum Tubes FOR SALE: 20) new in box, JAN 5703WB mil-spec vacuum tubes. The 5703 is a subminiature, medium-mu triode. It is almost identical in performance to the Telefunken AC 701 and AC 701K which were used in many tube mics by Neumann (all the original 50s and 60s M and KM tube mics), AKG, Telefunken and Schoeps to name a few. We include a sheet with the pin out and replacement suggestions for the 5703, and a sheet on the 701 for pin out comparison. The only modification necessary is to increase the filament voltage in the power supply from 4 volts to 6.3 volts. This is easily accomplished by any competent tech. The 5703's filament draws 200mA vs. 100mA for the 701. It will run warmer. It shouldn't be a problem in larger mics, but keep this in mind. We have been using these in a Neumann SM 2 stereo mic with excellent results. The cost of a 701 is anywhere from $125 to $250 each or higher. Many of the 701s floating around now are tubes that were rejected by Neumann! We call this a no brainer. Purchase 20 of these tubes as shown below for $85.00. US Shipping included.
